Sledgstone August 28th, 2004, 12:44 PM were there any running RPGs and/or reference topics that I should grab from the old forums? BlitzZ August 28th, 2004, 02:50 PM nah.ill start mine over. it needed a better plot. Mia August 29th, 2004, 12:43 AM I saw some RPGs in the previous forums, but none ever seemed to have anything in them aside from a single line of writing. Do large RPGs ever take place here? Camron August 29th, 2004, 01:16 AM one upon a time.. i had a good rp going for a good 14 or so pages.. lol and then there was a couple other good ones.. but aside from that, they usually die pretty quick due to a vital character not posting.. or just a general lack of interest by everyone. BlitzZ August 29th, 2004, 10:19 AM yes.now, everyone just posts one liners. I would like to get a good, long one started. Pm me if your interested, Gundam-Ranger-X August 29th, 2004, 04:38 PM My old Gundam RPG (way back when) lasted a good long while. Granted of course it was not SITCD. Kiteoto_Shenlong April 13th, 2005, 02:54 PM Kit actually made a really good one back in the day.. that actually ended on purpose. .. We tried a second installment but it didn't last nearly as long.. Yea...I remember that...I should start up an rp and see if we can outlast that one..it'll be hard as hell though..but fun eh? Any Takers if I get the ball rollin'? BlitzZ April 13th, 2005, 03:43 PM I will! ^_^ Azrael April 13th, 2005, 04:08 PM I'm down. I haven't done one of these in a while. Gundam-Ranger-X April 13th, 2005, 05:13 PM It really depends on what kind of rp, but put me down as a yes. DeathscytheX April 13th, 2005, 06:28 PM No one will ever beat SICD in success unless they have overwhelming dedication and time. I would do another one but It wouldnt be successful without the person I started it with, and he isnt exactly welcome here anymore X'D SICD took a few months of planing, I had to come up with a detailed background story, come up with NPC villians and mold their personalities. At the same time I had to leave a lot of stuff open so people could freely do almost anything with their character without many limitations. I find the more unrestricted people are to do things the more they like it and the more successful the RPG. Problems still occur but they can generally be fixed. The Other reason SCID was so successful was the people that participated and the dedication they had. The requirements I put in the signups I did to make sure I only got people that were serious and committed. The time and effort you had to put into your Mecha customization and Character's personality was fun and rewarding and also gave you a reason to take the RPG seriously. The huge updates required came along with the amounts of reading everyone had to do. Everyone that particpated was willing to do just that and I think that format worked so well because it was like an action novel, you could visualize it in your head like a movie and then you could add to it and control it. The Trust everyone had in each other to allow others to temporarily control another persons character as they interact is what made SCID such a success. SCID was truely a work of art which I enjoyed running very much. I wish we had the same passion for such an RPG today because i certianly would start another alternate universe in SICD. Don't give me all the credit for SCID I only came up with the story, rules, and my own character. Strider, GRX, Az, Dr. Satan, Cyberlink, and anyother name you see in the archive deserve credit where its due. Gundam-Ranger-X April 13th, 2005, 07:56 PM Feel like making Lev vs Rob round 3? |
