Weiz Kreuz, also known as Weiss Kreuz, Knight Hunters and White Cross is a story about a group of assassins. Aya, Yoji, Ken & Omi are the four young men that are the group known as Weiss (pronounced Vice). They work as florists during the day as cover. But don't let the flower boy personas distract you from their true purpose. The Weiss are elite assassins and receive their missions from the unknown mastermind Perisha. Manx, a sultry red head, is the liaison between Perisha & the Weiss. Weiss's missions are always to kill the evil that cannot be touched by the law. As the missions progress a political scheme is uncovered leading to a series of connections to the prime minister. Weiss becomes disbanded after the assassination of the prime minister is accomplished and the unfortunate death of Perisha. However, Weiss gets re-formed under the guidance of the covert group known as Kritiker. Manx and Burman are the liaisons for the group and assign Weiss their new missions. A highly powerful secret organization is pulling alot of strings and now its up to Weiss to bring all their evil doings to an end.
Throughout this series Weiss comes across some deadly enemies, most notoriously being the 4 men that call themselves Schwartz. Schwartz will do just about anything for money or to advance their own goals. Whether they are murderers or bodyguards or anything else, Schwartz has the power to achieve any goal set before them. When Schwartz encounters Weiss, the action gets quite intense.
The writers did an excellent job of integrating the character's pasts into the progressing story line seamlessly. And although the animation quality began to lack in the last half of the series, it did not take anything away from the overall plot. The series also ends with a large question unanswered: How did the battle with Schwartz end? We know that Weiss survived, so I can only assume they have to leave something open for an OVA.
Even though there is alot of Bishiness in Weiss Kreuz I highly recommend it for anyone interested in action, killing and bloodshed.
