Storyline
This is the first in the series on slayer's movies. The movie only has one character from the real series and that is Lina. In the movie Lina meets up with an old friend Naaga. So these two go on a trip to a beautiful island and that's where it all happens. Soon Lina finds a person seeking into dreams so he could get Lina to help him. When Lina agrees to help him. He shows Lina and Naaga something that happened in the past, so the only way to fix what happened Lina and Naaga must go into the past to fight an unfriendly demon.
Animation
The animation is this movie is quite good. It's over average but doesn't compare to movies such as "Akira" and "Blood the last vampire" which both have great animation. In some scenes the animation sticks out at you and you do notice in that scene the animation was really good. But over all I liked the animation.
Sounds and Effects
Well the sounds and Effects are just a little over average. The dubbing was nice. One character in the movie had a light sword and when he pulled it out it sounded just like a star wars light saber. Also other cool sounds were put into place like when Lina used her magic powers they sounded pretty cool. The effects were nice. Again when Lina used her magic powers used looked pretty nice it was kinda like a 3-D air effect thing if you get what I'm saying. But over all the sounds and effects were good.
Characters
There are only really two main characters in this movie. The Main character is Lina Inverse. She is funny but the leader of the two. She loves to eat and though out the movie people say she has small boobs and that's really pissed her off. Lina's sidekick is Naaga. Naaga is funnier than Lina but their still pretty funny. Naaga is the type of girl who always gets into the adventure even if you don't need her. Naaga is pretty funny when she gets drunk. But the two girls in this movie are a good mix they go well together.
Overall
Well the slayer's movie might not be for people who like in-depth storylines. Because the storyline isn't to great but I liked it. The action maybe not be too great but it all flows well together. Luckily you don't need to see the slayers series to understand the movie. Overall I would recommend seeing this movie but like I said this movie isn't for every anime lover out there but I'm sure most people would like it.
