Hellsing is a 12-part anime tale of an organization that protects England from vampires and other creatures of the night.
The Hellsing family (descending from Van Hellsing) is aided by an ancient vampire known only as Alucard. Why he aids the family was never really explained but he is on the level of being immortal as no one has the power to cause any lasting damage on him. In the first episode he saves a girl from a mortal wound by making her vampire and recruiting her into the hellsing organization.
A shocking development in the fight against the vampires that shocks the hellsing organisation is that the vampires that have appeared are in fact man made using hormone changing technology to create them.
Alucard's powers are nothing like the artificial and with the use of a high-powered gun he makes very quick work of his adversaries. When he is pushed too far he becomes a pure demonic form and takes the fight to a new level that terrifies even the most deadliest of enemies.
Alucard also watches over the girl he made a vampire as she battles the bloodlust that comes with her new abilities. They come up against countless vampires and ghouls and often ends in a bloodbath.
The storyline is weak at stages as you do not find who makes these artificial vampires nor do you find Alucard?s history, but I promise you, theres some nice action sequences with plenty of blood and guts.
A huge disappointment to the series is the fact it is focused on the hellsing organization and the girl as opposed to Alucard. As well as all the battles seem short with the exception of the final battle, as none of the enemies pose a threat to Alucard?s super natural abilities.
Story 7 (one too many weak holes for my taste)
Action 6 (far too short and no real life or death battles)
Characters 6 (like I said before bit weak at times)
Animation 7 (nice main characters, but side characters seem to lack detail)
Voices 5 (very well dubbed but the English accents used drive me insane, WE DON?T SOUND LIKE THAT)
Overall 6.2 is an average anime in all honestly, stick to Vampire Hunter D, the only decent thing was Alucard, and there wasn?t enough of that in it.
