"Blood for the Blood God!!!"
The second greatest game ever finally came out with the greatest expansion ever.
In "Dawn of War: Winter Assault" you follow one of two pathes. Order, and Dissorder. Will you follow the path to the Emperor and the Craftworld? Or will you spill blood for Khorne and the Wagh?
What's new?
Imperial Guard:
The Imperial Guard are a completly new race in Winter Assault. The bring an interesting new style of gameplay. While individually weak, their strength grows ten fold in higher numbers. They're slow to start but hard to stop once they get the numbers in. And then of course there's the Baneblade.
Eldar:
The Eldar are back and with a new unit: Fire Dragons. The Fire Dragons are infantry that are affective vs Tanks and Buildings. No assault should be without them.
Space Marines:
The glory boys are back even if they don't have a critical role in the campaign. They do however get a new, powerful, close combat leader: the Chaplain. The Chaplain counts as heavy infantry and is effective against heavy infantry and vehicles.
Orks:
The Orks also get a new unit: Mega Armor Nobs. These bad boyz bring it in hand to hand. There pretty much effective against anything you throw at them. Gotta love dem powerclaws. They make 'umies go 'squish'.
Chaos:
Last and certainly not least are my personal favorite, the World Eaters (Chaos). Being able to play the World Eaters is only appropriate considering that Chaos' new unit is the mighty Khorne Bezerker. Out of all the new units, I think the Khorne Bezerkers are the most powerful. Like they say, "Kill!!! Maim!!! Burn!!!" And while they won't do much burning they'll certaily kill and maim enough to make up for it.
All in all this expansion is a must buy for anyone who has Dawn of War.
The only real flaw is the fact that the campaign missions are quite difficult the first time around.
Even still, I can't wait for the next expansion to come out. Here's hoping the greater good is in it. :)
