I was interested in this series since I saw a promo of it online. But there's also a Mobile Suit Gundam Zeta which, in most people's opinions is simply superb. How does ZZ compare to Z ? Is it the follow-up series to Z (the name suggests it does) ?

What do you think about it ? A short synopsis ...

IMO, I loved liked Double Zeta but not as much as Zeta. It is the second season of Z Gundam but a bunch of different characters.

I've had it for a while, but it's just so damn hard to watch. Everything is so lighthearted and un-zeta

I have it dled but no time to watch it. Though from what I've previewed ZZ is no where near as good as Zeta.

Frankly ZZ was made to be lighthearted which was a bad idea. Frankly seeing as how its Zeta's sequel/second season it was rather a bad move. Would be better if they would have continued down the same line they did for Zeta (though I hear the second half of ZZ is actually damn good).

Emma was Killed, Katz, Henken and damn near every original Zeta cast died. Not to mention Kamille doesn't even pilot or even main character anymore. I mean Zeta is Kamilles story and so should the second season.

What's good about this series is the way nobody's actually assigned a particular suite andthe main character usually chose the Zeta G over the ZZ G. Psycho Gundam's destruction comes as probably the most disappointing in the entire series.

Check Animesuki Kuwa. The only way you can get Double Zeta is thru fansub groups or HK's. I myself have the whole ZZ series fansubbed (just haven't watched it yet).
