thats respectable. I hope they post some gameplay footage.
Strider Hiryu May 9th, 2006, 11:24 PM I must admit that is quite respectable. I'll say this I was impressed with the Zelda gameplay footage they had during the Press Conference. Still don't know about the whole Wii aspect of it though (seems like to much work to do crap in that game). Kinda wish they would of showed GC gameplay footage for the game.
DeathscytheX May 9th, 2006, 11:30 PM What I find dissapointing so far is the fact that Nintendo did not take full advantage of Sony's blazing high price announcement with the annoucement of their supposed low price. I also find there gameplay clips dissapointing... you get to see a random scene of who knows what that lasts 5-6 seconds and thats the end. Mario Galaxy looked interesting. The strongest showing so far is Red Steel. I'm impressed with that game.
Vincent May 9th, 2006, 11:56 PM well I certainly want one now

I was surprised they didn't announce their price. I was thinking that would of been one of the first few things mentioned. They might just be waiting till the last possible minute to make the rumors of the price circulate more then surprise us, who knows.
Sledgstone May 10th, 2006, 10:58 PM yes, i'm interested in the price. i could care less for all the remote/motion sensor controller, but i am wondering what kind of games namco bandai might make for the system. i love xenosaga.
DeathscytheX May 10th, 2006, 11:01 PM After watching some of the video's Im kinda digging the controller in some aspects.

hehe wasn’t you and a number of other people saying Wii was going to suck becuse of it when I was the only one with a open opinion? lol I think its safe to say Wii will not suck, in fact I think Nintendo will regain some of its market share because of it and becuse PS3's crazzy high prices.
I’m kind of sad they haven officially stated the price for Wii yet but 90% of the blogs and sites say it will be around $140-200 price range. Id buy that if it was $140 or so.
DeathscytheX May 10th, 2006, 11:33 PM I dont think I said it would suck. I said the controller was a joke because they hyped it like it was going to have LCD screens on it. I also stated various times that Nintendo would have to prove itself to me at E3 which it has done a decent job so far.
The fact is the Controller, while it is pretty neat in action, youll still have to buy that add on. If they package it with Wii that would be nice. It seems to be a crucial part to play many games.
I'll be doing a full analysis of personal thoughts on E3 when its all over.
gokuDX7 May 10th, 2006, 11:42 PM hehe I like how you change your mind on things like that :P. Anyway its good to see your not still hating on Nintendo just becuse of a control and the thought of lack of games :). nuff said.
DeathscytheX May 10th, 2006, 11:46 PM Don't get too ahead of yourself. I'm interested in way more PS3 games than Wii games. 4-5 capture my interest. Only one of them is a new idea.
Im making posts on what I think people are interested in, Not my own interests. Although I'm completely ignoring Xbox because i really dont care about anything they do.
gokuDX7 May 10th, 2006, 11:58 PM Ya but your basic idea of the system has changed from our fist chat way back when. Your basic thoughts where and I quote "Most people I know, myself included, are disgusted by the new controller" but from the looks of things on Digg, here and E3 people are diggin the controller ;).
Also you thought there wouldn't be that many games for the Wii and strongly pointed out that Nintendo was or is doing things all wrong. But look, look they have a nice list of games and its still growing from the looks of it. Also they seem to be making great choices so far. I’m still open minded about the consoles for the most part but I think Ill be seeing more Wiis then PS3's come this Christmas. PS. the name still sucks...Hey wanna come and play on my Wii?
DeathscytheX May 11th, 2006, 12:08 AM Yes Nintendo is doing some good for themselves, which is a welcomed change. Years of fustration has built up. The list of games are respectable.. not great.
And my statement back then was true, we were disgusted with the controller. But I also said it would work well for 1st person shooters, which encompasses most of the games I am interested in. the PS3's list of games still dwarfs Wii's game list.
You make a bold statement there with Wiis outselling PS3. Nintendo should have annouced its price, and it shouldn't have broken its promise about Smash being launch title. We will see. It looks like a possiblity, but a very difficult one for Nintendo to pull off. They should launch Wii before PS3 if they're price point is low enough. i dont think people would wait for Wii if PS3 came out.
Sledgstone May 11th, 2006, 12:15 AM i'm still waiting to see price points and features before i make any conclusions on the system (i can't make any final judgments until i actually play the system tho). and while i can see some benefits of the wiimote, it's basic design still pisses me off. i get some serious wrist movement pains and every game i've heard announced for this system will be primarly using the 'motion sensitivity' feature in some way, shape or form. the initial shell concept i saw on ign a long time ago looked promising, but theres no info on whether it will be functional for games or just the virtual terminal.
the game list looks good, but not for me. theres still only a handful of rpgs in that list. :\
and all that buzz years ago about the "new controller," hell, i thought it would have had a touch screen display.
btw, i remember being a fiend for the original NES when it came out years ago. but it doesn't mean i want to go back to that odd rectangle shape that made my left thumb dislocate. X'D
if the price is low enough, which it could be considering the hardware, i could see the wii outselling the ps3 and xbox360 this christmas. theres alot of grandparents out there that wouldn't mind dropping $150 for a kid's present, while $600 for a ps3 wouldn't happen. of course that would mean that nintendo would have to sell 4 systems to sony's 1, but considering the cost of hardware for nintendo, with its lower specs and probably lower overhead, i could see them making some money off this system.
gokuDX7 May 11th, 2006, 12:22 AM Like I said "I Think ill be seeing more Wii's then PS3's this Christmas. It wasnt ment to be bold ;). I just dont see PS's fans liking the $499-$600 or somthing prices for the game systems and then paying $50 or somthing for games....Its unrealistic for a game system. Like alot of people have said on Digg it sounds like people will just buy an Xbox 360 and a Wii and still spend less then buying a PS3. You can have your cake and eat it to I suppose. Will see how things play out though.
Strider Hiryu May 11th, 2006, 12:34 AM Meh, those who shell the money for the PS3 when it comes out will be the true Sony fans. We don't care about price, we want results and Sony is giving us just that. If you hit the GameSpot forums many of the Sony fans are actually happy with the price, it's far less then what rumors put it as and for everything you get with it it's a fair price.
True, the PS3 won't be selling like hotcakes because only the age group we're in has money for it. Parents won't blow this cash on a 12 yr. old and I don't blame them (the way my cousins treat consoles makes me sick).
Oh yes and I'm one of those that said the Wii would suck because of the controller and quite frankly I still think it does. I don't play video games to get a work out, if I want one I'll go outside and play basketball or something.
gokuDX7 May 11th, 2006, 12:38 AM lol you changed your mind again....you went from controler sucks to I think its neat to ok since Goku started somthing I better say it sucks again :P.
Btw. I have a feeling PS3 will have some issues. Its already crashed on Sonic lets hope they fix that before putting it out on the market.
DeathscytheX May 11th, 2006, 11:50 AM The Sony target audiance is far different from teh Nintendo Audiance. Sony could care less about the younger audiance as bad as that sounds. They target people with Credit Cards. X'D
It will be an interesting holiday season indeed.
Strider Hiryu May 11th, 2006, 11:55 AM Well that and those of us stupid enough to throw down the cash for it. Gotta love us Sony fans, always poor but always buying X'D
gokuDX7 May 11th, 2006, 12:33 PM True, after listening to the PS3 conference at E3 I was under the impression that the owner wants to raise the price yet again. I found what he said to be funny, think of PS3 as a fine restaurant; you don't compare a fine restaurant to a little dinner. When you’re in a fine restaurant you get nothing but the best (10 mins later PS3 crashes a few times). Something to that extant forgot the exact words. I should hope they don’t then Id defanatly give up all hope of ever seeing a PS3 in my household, I’m sure they wont though.
DeathscytheX May 11th, 2006, 01:04 PM The PS3 didnt crash, the Dev kit did running games that are less than half way finished.
gokuDX7 May 11th, 2006, 09:41 PM PS3 made a bad choice putting out there dev kits. lol just kidding, just trying to get ya mad DX :P
