What was your favourite Final Fantasy game and why?

for me its a real tossup between 6, 7 and X. the plot and characters for 6 were probably the best of any FF game, while 7 is the ultimate classic.. but in the end i voted for X because it was so ground breaking. completely voiced over, graphics, battle system, original plot. its set a precedence for all future RPGs.

I'd have to pic VIII or IX. VIII was the first one where th actually looked like people without cube hands. But I like the storyline and the card games. IX was kinda cartoony but I think it had the most fun things to do out of all of the FF, maybe except X. Not sure though. But IX had an awsome story line and the ending with Kuja and Zidane was my favorite ending of all. IMO, they had one of the coolest looking Ultima Weapon, not to mention Excalibur II (which was a bitch to get.)

Personally, I liked the first one...I just haven't played enough of the others to really get a feel for them.

Hmmm seeing as how I missed the great FFVII (never played it) I rule that one out right away. I liked FFI however not up to my style, FFII was okay but sadly not that great. Can't say if I like FFIII cause it was never released stateside. FFIV I have yet to beat but it's a good game. Probably my third favorite of the series. FFV I've never played so I can't say anything good or bad and I only made it a third of the way thru VI but it was a great game none-the-less, probably my second fav of the FF series. Again I never played VIII so I can't judge it. X was ground breaking yes but the plot fell thru halfway thru the game leaving me with a "WTF just happened" and the damn final boss was so easy it made me cry. Never got to beating FFX-2 seeing as how it never did peak my interest that much (lack of Blitzball, tis what made the first game good). XI I never got around to buying, already play WoW (which is one subscription to many to pay for) and at the time it came out I didn't have a computer capable of playing it or a broadband connection.

Seeing as how I left out IX that is the one I voted for. IX in my opinion had the best storyline out of the FF games I played. You were able to connect with the characters on an emotional level (come on folks I know Vivi's story pulled at you're heart strings, thats one tough little black mage) and they were so fleshed out. Sure the graphics were a little on the cartoony side, in my opinion is was great for the games style. It's also got, in my opinion, one of the best damn ending to any FF game (that I've played, was so beautiful).

Now if you would have had Final Fantasy Tactics: Advance up there it would have been a different story. I've logged more hours into that game then I have with any of the other Final Fantasy's I've played. Tis such a great game.

My favorite was VI. I also liked XI. I loved my little white mage/red mage. I need a better computer, though. All I got was chugging when I was playing, I got sick of it, so I had to quit.

Sadly it seems everyone forgets the great Tactics games. Tis a shame, they're the best FF games in my opinion.

i only bothered to play ff7 so my vote goes there(dont get me wrong, i loved it). i had chance to play 6, 8 and tactic but i wasnt that interested at that time.

My Favorite by far is Final Fantasy 10. I like the story a lot and the Graphics are awesome. I really like how they did the Battle System (a lot more smoother than previous games) and how they let you decide on how your character grew. You Could Turn Wakka into a hard hitter and make auron a fast hitting man, lol. Maybe even make Lulu a White Magic and Yuna a Black Magic?

My favorites so far are FFVIII, FFX, and FF Tactics Advance because I loved the story and played them over and over.
