Sledgstone October 25th, 2004, 06:24 PM I need one! O_O
I'm looking for something around: 120 GB, USB 2.0
Is there any particular brand I should be shopping for? anyone have any recommendations for particular models? I was looking around on www.pricewatch.com (http://www.pricewatch.com) and www.shopper.com (http://www.shopper.com) but i honestly don't know whats good or not and before i start looking into this thoroughly i was wondering if anyone could tell me what models or brands i should steer clear of to help save me some time. ^__^; any help would be greatly appreciated. :happy:

Eppy October 25th, 2004, 07:49 PM http://www.newegg.com/ or http://www.pccityusa.com/
i got my HDs from PC City USA there....bother are cheap
Sledgstone November 9th, 2004, 09:13 PM update!
i was going to go with pccity and order the 120 GB, but they wanted to charge me about $17 for shipping and handeling. x_x; so i thought for that price i could get the spiffy western digital at newegg, but they wanted about $9 for shipping. so i came to the conclusion i'd go with the western digital, but decided to make sure i was getting the best price for it. a little searching later and i found the same harddrive on sale at compusa for $129 after rebate. so after figuring in tax and overall costs, i went with compusa as it would be overall cheaper and i'd have the product in my hand right then.
so, i went to compusa sunday, bought the harddrive, came home, hooked it up... turns out the harddrive was defective, went back to compusa today. exchanged it for a new one (getting a new purchase receipt as to not screw up the rebate that reprinted with it). the new one works great, it was preformatted FAT32 and came with the USB 2 and firewire cables.

you can only fit so many internals you know...and internals are mainly used for programs and having a large HD like that at only 7200 rpm would slow a computer down significatly...externals may be a bit pricier but its mainly jsut for storage and backup and makes it easy to transfer large amounts of files without having to use a retarded about of cd-rs or dvdrs
Sledgstone November 10th, 2004, 09:32 PM *has 17 cd-rs from full computer backup a year ago* x_x;
Mike 1508 November 10th, 2004, 10:38 PM how many bays does ur comp have?
Eppy November 11th, 2004, 03:43 AM how many bays does ur comp have?
number of bays has nothing to do with it....internals depend on how many your mobo can support plus your PSW...having a lot of bays means nothing if you can only support 2 IDE HDs off your mobo and only have the amount of plugs for a certain amout of items
Sledgstone November 11th, 2004, 06:28 PM how many bays does ur comp have?
lets just say everything is full inside and out. O_o;
anyone remember the good old days of full tower cases and 8 inch black floppys that only held, what 380kb? X'D
Inuyasha88 August 16th, 2005, 11:45 PM Nope, mine only has a 5 inchers XD
Sledgstone August 16th, 2005, 11:56 PM i remember when 286 processors came out. and they were the shit! until windows 3.11 workstation came out and i had to upgrade to the latest 386 25 mhz, that thing was lightening fast compared to my previous 10 mhz! X'D

more like hentai! X"D j/k :-P
cfioncn August 19th, 2005, 05:02 PM I'd get an internal or something and get a good enclosure for it...that way if you ever want to convert it back to internal you can and plus it's probably gonna be faster and cheaper per GB.
Bishie August 19th, 2005, 09:00 PM Yeah man, what Cee-Fee said. Ghetto styling, street rich mutha fucka!

well exuse me, but with 11 bays, and with my MB being able to support up to 2 eide (4 devices) and 1 ide (2 devices), i dont exactly see myself running out of space any time soon, thats my new computer by the way, i finished it :D
Inuyasha88 September 19th, 2005, 08:30 PM Better hide that hdcoughfull of hentaicough , or lady will hang you by your toe-nails from a lightbulb...:meh:
